Cleveland man breaks unofficial stroller-mile world record

Stephen Biebelhausen, an emergency room doctor from Cleveland, unofficially broke the stroller-mile world record during the Guardian Mile race. Pushing his one-year-old daughter, Blake, Biebelhausen completed the mile in 4:17.707.

The time surpasses the previous Guinness World Record of 4:26.29, which was set by Silas Frantz in California in 2025. Biebelhausen noted that he had only performed one specific speed workout for the event and had originally aimed to break the course record of 4:44.

Despite the race starting 45 minutes past his daughter's bedtime, Biebelhausen reported that Blake remained calm throughout the run. He mentioned that while he is an experienced marathon runner, handling the stroller at such high speeds was a new challenge that required managing pace without being able to easily check his watch.
