Cleveland Meredith arrested for allegedly threatening to execute federal judges

Cleveland Meredith, a Georgia man previously pardoned by Donald Trump for his role in the January 6 Capitol attack, has been arrested and charged with threatening to execute federal judges. According to a federal criminal complaint filed in Atlanta, Meredith allegedly posted on Facebook in April, “ALL J6 Federal JUDGES will be EXECUTED!”

Prosecutors stated that Meredith has recently posted several concerning messages calling for violence. In one October post, he allegedly wrote, “Make damn sure that you’re on the right team going into the midterms…firing squads will commence on Wednesday, 11/04/26.”

Meredith was among over 1,500 individuals charged in connection with the January 6 attack. During that event, authorities alleged he traveled to Washington, D.C., with a pistol, a rifle, 2,500 rounds of ammunition, and multiple large-capacity feeding devices. He also allegedly texted a relative stating an intent to harm then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Meredith pleaded guilty to making interstate threats in 2021 and was sentenced to 28 months in prison before receiving a presidential pardon in January 2025.
