Clicks Technology begins shipping MagSafe-compatible Power Keyboard

Clicks Technology has begun shipping its Power Keyboard, a $99 MagSafe and Qi2-compatible accessory designed to provide a physical QWERTY typing experience for modern smartphones. The device aims to replicate the tactile feel of classic BlackBerry devices by sliding out a physical keyboard behind the phone. As of late July, the company reported that over 20,000 units have been delivered, with 75% of the first batch of preorders already shipped.

The keyboard features a built-in 2,150 mAh battery, adjustable LED backlighting, and Bluetooth connectivity. It is designed to accommodate various phone sizes and can be used in both portrait and landscape orientations. Users can also customize functions via a companion app, such as using the Clicks button as a Tab key or enabling a ‘Cursor Mode’ for navigation.

Despite its utility, the accessory faces ergonomic challenges. At 180 grams, it can make smartphones feel top-heavy and difficult to hold in portrait mode, particularly when paired with larger devices like the iPhone 17 Pro Max or Pixel 10 XL. The physical bulk may also make the phone difficult to fit into pockets or use with thick protective cases.
