Clifford Wilby found guilty of harassing MP Stella Creasy on Tube train

Clifford Wilby, 63, has been found guilty of harassing Labour MP Stella Creasy on a Victoria line Tube train. The incident occurred in July last year between Walthamstow Central and Finsbury Park.

During the encounter, Wilby blocked Creasy from leaving the carriage and behaved in an “abusive and aggressive” manner. He confronted the Walthamstow MP regarding knife crime and her performance as a Member of Parliament, while also filming her on a mobile phone. Passengers intervened to protect the MP, with one individual positioning himself between Creasy and the defendant.

The court heard that the two had previously met during a Zoom meeting in 2024, which was terminated due to Wilby’s behavior. Creasy testified that during that meeting, Wilby made serious allegations and referred to having been “diagnosed as a psychopath.”

Deputy Chief Magistrate Tan Ikram found Wilby guilty of using threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behavior with the intent to cause harassment, alarm, or distress.
