Climate and seasonal trends in various Italian regions

According to the 2026 Climate Index published by Il Sole 24 Ore in collaboration with 3DMeteo, Rovigo is the Italian city with the highest frequency of foggy days. While Milan and the Po Valley are traditionally associated with this phenomenon, Rovigo recorded the most days where fog appeared during the monitored time slots. Conversely, Aosta, Sondrio, and Bolzano recorded the fewest foggy days due to their specific climatic and orographic characteristics.

In other regions, seasonal changes are driving local interest. In the Nebrodi Park within the province of Messina, beech forests are undergoing autumn foliage, with peak color changes typically occurring between mid-October and mid-November. In the province of Rieti, the month of November is characterized by changing landscapes around Lago del Salto and the Cicolano area, where autumn colors and local seasonal gastronomy are prominent.
