Climate change awareness initiatives launched in Italy

Educational initiatives regarding climate change and meteorology are being highlighted in Italy through both an interactive exhibition and expert presentations.

In Campogalliano, the Museo della Bilancia is set to inaugurate an exhibition titled “Il clima in bilico. Misurare il cambiamento climatico, pesare le scelte” on October 18, 2026. Supported by the Fondazione di Modena, the interactive exhibit uses scientific instruments and installations to explore topics such as the greenhouse effect, precipitation, and energy. A key component of the project is teaching visitors how to identify climate-related fake news and misleading information.

In Monza, experts from the Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare) presented on meteorology and climate change during an event organized by the Lions Club Monza Corona Ferrea. Colonels Emanuele Vuerich and Guido Guidi discussed the importance of long-term meteorological data collection for safety and efficiency, as well as the human relationship with the environment. The discussion addressed the undeniable rise in temperatures and the historical evolution of human adaptation to climatic shifts.
