Climate education initiatives engage students in Switzerland

Educational projects in Switzerland are utilizing diverse methods to teach students about climate change and sustainability. In Adelboden, the SolarButterfly project visited local schools, providing students from grades 3 to 9 with interactive lessons. Led by Louis Palmer, the initiative used a solar-powered vehicle shaped like a butterfly to engage children through presentations on solar history and hands-on activities regarding climate change solutions.

Additionally, the Klimagarten 2085 project focuses on transformative education by combining scientific experimentation with artistic expression. This approach aims to foster deep, reflective learning, helping students understand the connection between global environmental issues and personal decisions, such as food consumption. The project utilizes immersive environments and workshops, including experiments on plant gas exchange during drought conditions, to encourage sustainable behavioral changes.
