Amsterdam climate march scheduled for September 12

A climate march is scheduled to take place in Amsterdam on September 12. The event is organized by nine different groups, including the national organization GroeneKerken, which plans to coordinate participation from Utrecht-based churches.

Preparations for the march include a radical singing block, which held an open rehearsal on September 4 at De Ceuvel to prepare protest songs focused on liberation and systemic change.

However, the event has faced criticism regarding its participant list. Some activists have raised concerns about the inclusion of a “climate security professionals block,” alleging that the group represents interests that conflict with the core mission of climate activism.
