Climbers achieve first ascent of Biacherahi Central in Pakistan

Climbers Thomas Huber, Miquel Mas, and Víctor Sans have completed what they believe to be the first ascent of Biacherahi Central, a 5,700-metre peak in the Karakoram range of Pakistan.

The team established a new route named ‘Wild Soul’, which consists of 21 pitches over approximately 600 metres. The climb involved technical rock climbing at high altitude above the Choktoi Glacier in the Latok region.

The expedition was heavily influenced by extreme weather conditions, including continuous snowfall. The climbers utilized a brief five-day window of favorable weather to reach the summit and return to their advanced base camp, located at approximately 5,050 metres. While the team encountered signs of previous attempts on the middle section of the wall, they found no evidence that the summit had been reached before.
