Climbers honor late mountaineer Fikret Yaşar on Cilo Mountain

A group of 19 climbers completed a trek to the 4,135-meter summit of Cilo Mountain in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari to honor the memory of Fikret Yaşar. Yaşar, one of the region's pioneering mountaineers, passed away three years ago.

The expedition included 14 participants from Tunceli and five from Şırnak, led by İskender Doğan and guided by local mountaineer Sabır Geylani. Doğan, a long-time friend of Yaşar, organized the climb to preserve Yaşar's legacy in the landscape he loved. During the summit event, climbers reflected on Yaşar's contributions to the local mountaineering community.
