Sălaj authorities investigate possible abduction of three siblings

Police in Sălaj and Cluj counties have launched a large-scale search for three siblings, aged 11, 12, and 13, who disappeared from the village of Borla on October 29. The children, identified as Denis Antonio Rostaș, Ioan Rostaș, and Raluca Mădălina Rostaș, were last seen near a sheepfold where they lived with their mother.

The disappearance was reported after the mother returned from tending to animals to find only her youngest child remaining. The child reportedly claimed that someone had come and taken his siblings. Authorities have issued RO-Alert messages and mobilized over 50 police and gendarmerie officers, utilizing search dogs and road checkpoints to locate the minors.

Investigators are currently exploring multiple theories, including the possibility of an abduction. A new lead emerged following a report from a shepherd who claimed to have seen one of the children in a shop accompanied by a man, suspected to be the mother's former partner. While the abduction hypothesis is being actively investigated, police have not officially confirmed it.
