Céline Dion and Paul McCartney collaborate on animated film

Céline Dion and Paul McCartney are collaborating on the upcoming 3D animated film ‘High in the Clouds’, based on McCartney’s 2005 children’s book. Dion will voice the character Sugartail, the mother of the protagonist, and will perform several original songs written and composed by McCartney for the project.

The film follows a teenage squirrel named Wirral, voiced by Himesh Patel, who leads a rebellion against a diva owl named Gretsch, voiced by Hannah Waddingham, who has banned music from their town. The voice cast also includes Idris Elba, Lionel Richie, Ringo Starr, and Jimmy Fallon.

Michael Giacchino will compose the score, and the soundtrack is set for a global release via Universal Music Group. Gaumont Animation is producing the film, which is directed by Toby Genkel.
