Céline Dion announces Paris concert comeback following health battle

Céline Dion is preparing for a major stage comeback following a multi-year hiatus caused by Stiff-Person Syndrome, a rare autoimmune neurological disorder. The 58-year-old singer has been undergoing rigorous physical training, including pilates and ballet, to regain the strength and mobility necessary for live performances.

Dion is scheduled to perform a series of shows at the La Défense Arena in Paris. The residency is planned to begin on September 12, 2026, with performances continuing through May 2027. The singer has spoken openly about her condition, noting that she lived with symptoms for approximately 17 years before receiving a formal diagnosis in 2022.

To manage the progressive nature of the syndrome, which causes muscle rigidity and painful spasms, Dion has utilized a combination of medication, physiotherapy, vocal therapy, and immunotherapy. She expressed a desire to be transparent with her fans about her health journey, stating, ‘The least I can do is tell them that I am alive.’
