Céline Dion prepares for Paris stage comeback after health battle

Céline Dion is preparing for a major return to the stage with a residency at the Paris La Défense Arena, scheduled to begin on September 12, 2026. The 58-year-old singer is returning after a six-year hiatus caused by her battle with stiff-person syndrome, a rare autoimmune neurological disorder that causes muscle stiffness and spasms.

Dion revealed in recent interviews that she experienced symptoms of the condition for nearly 17 years before receiving a formal diagnosis in 2022. She described experiencing debilitating pain that sometimes required high doses of Valium to function. To prepare for her upcoming performances, she has committed to an intensive rehabilitation and training regimen, including Pilates, ballet, physical therapy, and vocal therapy.

The Paris residency is expected to be highly successful, with demand so high that additional shows have been scheduled for May 2027. Dion expressed that her return is a gift to her fans, stating, “It’s been so long, I would like to offer them something to show how I’ve missed them.”
