Céline Dion returns to the stage with Paris residency after six-year hiatus

Céline Dion has made her highly anticipated return to the stage, performing her first full concert in over six years at the Plenitude Arena in Nanterre, near Paris. The emotional event, attended by approximately 30,000 fans, marks the beginning of a 26-night residency scheduled through October 2026, with additional shows planned for May 2027.

The singer, 58, has been recovering from stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder diagnosed in 2022 that causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms. During the performance, Dion expressed her gratitude to her supporters, stating, “I made a promise that I would come back to the stage. So here I am, singing for you and singing for myself.”

The residency follows a period of significant health challenges and the cancellation of her previous world tour. The comeback has seen massive international interest, with reports of significant increases in travel bookings to Paris from various regions. Dion’s return follows a brief appearance at the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony.
