Clinical Center of Montenegro fire damages four rooms

A fire at the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) has damaged four rooms and caused smoke damage to several others. Preliminary findings suggest the blaze likely originated from old electrical installations dating back to the building's construction.

KCCG officials stated that high-tech medical equipment, including 'C-arm' and 'DEXA' machines, was not connected to the old installations and appears to have sustained no visible damage. The center also denied reports that a 'C-arm' device worth 400,000 euros was destroyed, clarifying its purchase value was 217,000 euros and it was in standby mode during the incident.

While medical materials were damaged, the hospital is working to restore full functionality. The polyclinic is expected to resume regular operations shortly, though some patients may need to reschedule appointments for the following week. The Clinic for Anesthesia, Intensive Care, and Pain Therapy, as well as the Operating Block, are also being restored. Emergency surgeries were completed successfully, while non-urgent procedures have been rescheduled for the upcoming weekend.
