Clinical Center of Montenegro fire likely caused by old wiring
Preliminary findings suggest that a fire at the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) likely originated from old electrical installations dating back to the building's construction. Authorities are still working to determine the exact cause.
KCCG officials stated that critical medical equipment, including C-arm and DEXA devices, was not connected to the old wiring. These machines are powered by newer installations maintained by certified professionals. According to the center, the electrical distribution cabinets serving these devices showed no signs of damage.
The center also clarified that high-tech equipment in the affected area, including two MRI machines, sustained no visible damage from the fire or from water used during firefighting efforts. Additionally, KCCG disputed claims regarding the value of the C-arm machine, stating its purchase value was 217,000 euros rather than 400,000 euros.
