Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo assures patient safety

Alen Pilav, the General Director of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo (KCUS), held a press conference to address public concerns regarding treatment safety and the availability of specialist staff, particularly in endocrinology and pediatrics. Pilav assured citizens that the center is functioning normally and that patients will receive all necessary medical services and medications.

Data presented shows an increase in patient volume, with approximately 31,000 patients hospitalized between January and August this year, compared to nearly 30,000 during the same period last year. Hospital days also saw a 1.4 percent increase.

To ensure long-term quality of care, KCUS is investing in medical personnel. The center currently has 251 residents expected to work as specialists upon completion of their training. Additionally, 79 candidates have completed the application process for further specialization, and plans are in place to announce 53 more specializations following the current procedure.
