Clínica Andes Salud performs first scalpel-free circumcision in Los Lagos

Clínica Andes Salud Puerto Montt has performed the first circumcision in the Los Lagos Region using a technique that requires no scalpel or sutures. The procedure was conducted by urologist Dr. Camilo Novoa.

The method utilizes the CircCurer Disposable Circumcision Suture Device II, a sterile, disposable manual device that performs the incision and suturing simultaneously. This technology uses a circular blade and a manual stapler to place small stainless steel staples that detach naturally after 10 to 14 days.

According to Dr. Novoa, the innovation aims to reduce surgical trauma, decrease inflammation and pain, and allow for faster recovery and more precise aesthetic results compared to traditional methods.
