Regional sports initiatives and events across Argentina, Spain, Venezuela, and Chile

Various regional and international sports and physical activity initiatives are being implemented across several countries.

In Argentina, the Río Negro government is accepting applications for its ‘Impulso Deportivo’ program until September 30, aimed at strengthening community sports projects through professional staffing and technical support. Other local activities include a recreational tejo tournament in Bariloche, a free nature and recreation training course in Sáenz Peña, and an inclusive marathon in Las Flores. Additionally, Fernando Ferrara, coach of the ‘Las Leonas’ women’s hockey team, will lead training sessions in Concepción del Uruguay.

In Spain, the University of Castilla-La Mancha is hosting two major congresses, CAFEES and SIEFLAS, from September 30 to October 2, focusing on physical activity and health in children and adolescents. Meanwhile, Alcoy has expanded its municipal swimming course capacity to 540 places to meet rising demand.

In Venezuela, the Zulia Rollers club dominated the Maracaibo City Festival, winning 98 medals in an inline skating competition involving 300 athletes. In Chile, the Municipality of Rancagua is organizing the ‘Perritón 2026,’ a family-oriented recreational circuit and pet fair at the Patricio Mekis Sports Complex.
