Clorinda teenager dies from electric shock in home accident

A 14-year-old boy died in Clorinda, Argentina, after receiving an electric shock in his home in the Primero de Mayo neighborhood. The incident occurred on a Wednesday afternoon when the teenager, who was barefoot, entered a bathroom where a semi-automatic washing machine was operating.

The victim was rushed to the Dr. Cruz Felipe Arnedo Hospital, but medical staff were unable to revive him. A forensic examination later determined the cause of death to be “cardiorespiratory arrest due to electrocution.”

Following an investigation by the Primero de Mayo Substation and the Scientific Police, authorities discovered that the washing machine was connected via a precarious extension cord. The cord had an uninsulated end that was in contact with a metal shelf, creating the hazardous condition.
