Fiji Pro begins at Cloudbreak with elite WSL surfers
The World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour has arrived at Cloudbreak, Fiji, for the Fiji Pro. The competition features elite surfers competing in waves ranging from 1.2 to 1.8 meters, with forecasts suggesting larger swells of up to 3 meters in the coming days.
In the opening rounds, Canadian surfer Erin Brooks made a significant impact by recording a perfect 10-point ride, earning a total of 18.00 points. In the men’s division, Japan’s Kanoa Iisashi advanced to the third round after defeating Alan Cleland.
Other notable results include Vahine Fierro advancing to the round of 16, while Tya Zebrowski was eliminated in a close heat against Yolanda Hopkins. The event features strong representation from Brazil, including ranking leader Italo Ferreira, as the tour continues its season at one of the world’s most iconic surf locations.
