Cloudera and VAST Data announced a strategic partnership to create a unified "AI Factory" architecture that keeps GPU clusters continuously fed with data. The joint solution combines Cloudera's containerised lakehouse services with VAST Data's disaggregated shared‑everything storage and AI operating system, eliminating the bottleneck where GPUs sit idle waiting for data.

The partnership targets enterprises that invest heavily in GPUs but struggle with under‑utilisation due to data‑pipeline delays. By integrating NVIDIA’s AI Data Platform reference design, the stack supports on‑prem, private‑cloud and public‑cloud deployments and complies with data‑sovereignty requirements.
