Cloudflare open-sources Cloudflare OS AI platform

Cloudflare has open-sourced Cloudflare OS, an internal platform designed to provide employees with AI agents and workspaces tailored to organizational processes, terminology, and internal systems. Originally developed as an internal tool, the platform is now available for anyone to deploy on their own accounts via GitHub.

The platform is built on a capability-based security model to address data leakage risks. It utilizes a sandboxed environment where each application or document runs as a separate instance, known as a ‘Gadget’. This architecture allows the platform to manage access control centrally, ensuring that users cannot accidentally leak data through shared workspaces.

Cloudflare OS aims to enable non-technical users to engage in ‘vibe coding’—using AI to build, modify, and share personalized applications and automate repetitive workflows. Because users run their own copies of the code in isolated environments, they can prompt agents to add new features to their specific software instances without the constraints typically found in standard Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) models.
