Cloudflare releases open‑source Cloudflare OS AI platform

Cloudflare announced that its internal workflow tool, Cloudflare OS, is now available as open‑source software. The platform, described as an "AI work‑space," lets any employee—or external organization—create applications, automate repetitive tasks, and build AI‑driven agents through a standard web browser. It runs on Cloudflare Workers and leverages the company’s global edge infrastructure, providing isolated execution environments that start in milliseconds and use minimal memory. Each AI agent operates in its own sandbox, and detailed logs record the data and actions used for each decision, enhancing transparency and auditability.

The initial internal version was rolled out in May to thousands of Cloudflare staff for document creation, data visualisation, and process automation. The open‑source release includes a reference implementation that shows how other organisations can customise the interface, integrate internal systems, and enforce bespoke security policies without altering the core code. Kenton Varda, a Cloudflare engineer, highlighted the security model that isolates each instance, reducing risk even if an agent contains buggy code.
