Cloudflare reports 23 million DDoS attacks in six months

Cloudflare has reported a significant surge in Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, noting that the company repelled 23.2 million attacks against its network infrastructure during the first half of 2026. The report, presented at the Black Hat conference, highlights a 519% increase in hyper-volumetric attacks, which are defined as those exceeding 1 Tbps in traffic volume.

In addition to infrastructure attacks, Cloudflare blocked 29.64 trillion malicious requests directed at specific websites. This volume averages approximately 128,000 attacks per day. The data shows that medium-sized attacks are also rising, with bandwidth attacks between 500 Gbps and 1 Tbps increasing by 143%, and those between 100 and 500 Gbps rising by 105%.
