Cloverdale Athletic Park completes first phase of $12M upgrade
Phase one of a $12 million improvement project at Cloverdale Athletic Park in Surrey has been completed with the installation of two new outdoor turf fields. These multi-use pitches replace previous grass soccer fields that were frequently closed due to heavy rain. The new synthetic surfaces are designed to remain open for use year-round.
Additional developments in the project include a 110-space parking lot expected by November, an access road, a new traffic light at 64th Avenue and 170th Street, and a covered training facility for the Surrey United Soccer Club. Mayor Brenda Locke stated the investment aims to meet the demand for quality recreational facilities and enhance the city's ability to host sporting events.
