Cloverdale, BC prepares for new hospital opening and launches Best of Business contest

The provincial government announced that the new Cloverdale Hospital and Cancer Centre is on schedule and on budget, with an expected opening for first patients in February 2030, or possibly sooner. Premier David Eby highlighted the facility’s 168 beds, a second emergency department, a 50‑room oncology unit, and the province’s only two cyclotrons. The project, now costing $2.88 billion, will be one of Canada’s first fully electric hospitals.

Separately, the Cloverdale Reporter has opened nominations for its 2026 Best of Cloverdale awards, inviting residents to vote for local restaurants, shops and service providers. The contest runs from July 28 to August 14 for nominations, followed by a voting period through early September, with winners to be announced in early October. Participants can also enter a draw for a $250 Save‑On‑Foods gift card.
