Clovis East students run student-led floral design business
Students at Clovis East High School in California are gaining professional experience through Timber Blossom Floral, a student-run business operating under the school’s agriculture department. The program allows advanced floral design students to manage real-world projects, including weddings, graduations, and district functions.
Under the instruction of teacher Ariel Covey, students participate in every stage of the business process. This includes developing flower recipes, calculating cost estimates, managing timelines, and creating final products such as boutonnieres and arrangements for paying clients. The curriculum is designed to mirror the professional floral industry, emphasizing the importance of reliability and meeting deadlines.
