CLP releases 2026 Municipality Competitiveness Ranking
The 2026 Municipality Competitiveness Ranking, produced by the Centro de Liderança Pública (CLP) with technical support from Gove, has released its findings regarding municipal capacity in Brazil. In the Northern region, Cacoal (RO) leads the health quality classification, followed by Palmas (TO) and Cametá (PA).
In the state of Acre, Cruzeiro do Sul ranked 15th in the region and 251st nationally, while the capital, Rio Branco, placed 22nd in the North and 276th nationally out of 423 municipalities surveyed.
The health quality pillar evaluates service effectiveness and direct impact on residents rather than just physical infrastructure. The methodology utilizes official data from Datasus and the Food and Nutritional Surveillance System (Sisvan), focusing on five key metrics: maternal mortality, infant mortality, deaths from preventable causes in the 5 to 49 age range, childhood malnutrition, and childhood obesity rates.
