Călărași residential building joins FEERM energy efficiency program

The first residential building in Călărași has joined the government’s Residential Energy Efficiency Fund (FEERM) program. Residents of the building on Bojole Street have signed a financing contract to conduct an energy audit with assistance from the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED).

The audit aims to identify necessary works to reduce energy consumption and improve living conditions. Under the FEERM program, the government will cover the majority of the costs, with residents contributing only ten percent.

One of the primary issues facing the 50-apartment building is a deteriorating roof. Residents report that rain and melting snow leak into corridors and apartments, particularly affecting those on the fifth floor. The building administration noted that the cost of repairing the roof independently has become prohibitively expensive due to rising construction material prices.
