Clásico Tamaulipeco security measures announced for upcoming match

Security authorities and club executives have coordinated a safety strategy for the 44th edition of the Clásico Tamaulipeco, featuring Club Correcaminos UAT and Jaiba Brava Tampico Madero. The match, part of the Liga Expansión MX Apertura 2026 tournament, is expected to draw over 10,000 spectators to the Unidad Deportiva Adolfo Ruiz Cortines in Cd. Victoria, Tamaulipas.

The security operation will include 170 personnel from the Secretaría de Seguridad Pública, supplemented by private security staff from Correcaminos. Measures include a six-hour operational window and the use of closed-circuit television (CCTV) for surveillance. Per Mexican Football Federation regulations, visiting fan groups are prohibited from entering the venue.

On the pitch, Correcaminos midfielder Omar Islas expressed confidence despite the team's recent struggles, noting that the squad has earned only two points in the last four matches. Islas emphasized the importance of the match for returning to the top of the standings, stating that the team is prepared to work hard to secure a victory.
