Club América aims to replicate historic championship success

Club América defender Kevin Álvarez expressed confidence that the current squad, led by manager Guillermo Almada, possesses the potential to replicate the historic ‘tricampeonato’ achieved under former coach André Jardine.

Currently leading the Apertura 2026 tournament with 27 points, the team boasts the league's best offense with 32 goals scored in 12 matches. Top scorers include Henry Martín with 7 goals, followed by Miguel Borja and Brian Rodríguez with 5 goals each. Defensively, the team ranks second in the league for fewest goals conceded, with 16 goals allowed.

Álvarez noted that while the roster is different, several players from the previous championship era remain committed to making history. The team is preparing for their upcoming match against Pachuca in Jornada 14.
