Club América faces championship pressure as Miguel Borja addresses Cruz Azul transfer

As Liga MX resumes following the FIFA international break, discussions have emerged regarding the high performance expectations placed on Club América. Analysts have debated whether the club is obligated to win championships in every tournament, given its institutional identity and recent roster changes involving new reinforcements.

Amidst these discussions, striker Miguel Borja addressed his previous failed transfer to Cruz Azul. Borja explained that administrative issues regarding foreign player slots prevented the move earlier this year. He stated, “The times of God are perfect. It did not happen with Cruz Azul and I believe it is the things of God. Now I am in the biggest team in Mexico and I am being happy.” Borja has seen early success with América, scoring four goals in his first three official matches.
