Club América failed to sign Luis Chávez due to payment disputes

Santiago Baños, the sporting director of Club América, revealed that the club was very close to signing midfielder Luis Chávez before the transfer market closed. According to Baños, an agreement was nearly finalized, but Dinamo Moscú rejected the proposed payment methods.

Due to restrictions regarding the American fund used by the club, direct transfers to Russian clubs are not permitted. The proposed alternatives involved using an English fund or having the player rescind his contract so the club could pay him directly. Dinamo Moscú declined these options, making the transfer impossible. Baños noted that Chávez could still be considered for the upcoming winter market.

Additionally, Baños addressed the failed negotiation for Colombian midfielder Nelson Deossa. The club determined that the valuation set by Real Betis was too high, as the Spanish club sought to recoup the amount previously paid to Monterrey.
