Football updates: River Plate pressure and Liga MX Femenil shifts

In Argentine football, the Torneo Clausura enters its final stages. River Plate faces significant pressure to secure points to qualify for the 2027 Copa Libertadores, as they currently sit outside the playoff zones and risk missing out on the Copa Sudamericana entirely. Meanwhile, the annual table shows Independiente Rivadavia leading the race for international qualification.

In Mexico's Liga MX Femenil, the Apertura 2026 tournament sees major shifts in the standings following Jornada 10. Rayadas de Monterrey ended Club América Femenil's undefeated streak with a 4-3 victory, though América remains at the top of Group B. Chivas Femenil secured a 1-0 win against FC Juárez amidst officiating controversy, moving into second place in Group B. In Group A, Rayadas leads the standings with 27 points, followed by Tigres.

Additionally, Club América Femenil will face upcoming challenges during the FIFA international window, as 14 of its players have been called up to represent Mexico, Brazil, and Venezuela.
