Club América integrates three World Cup returnees into preseason training

Club América has welcomed back three players – defender Israel Reyes (Mexico) and midfielders Sebastián Cáceres and Brian Rodríguez (both Uruguay) – to the club’s Coapa training facility following their participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The trio began a regimen of regenerative exercises and physical evaluations under the direction of new head coach Guillermo Almada, who took over after André Jardine’s departure, before joining full‑squad sessions.

Reyes returned early, foregoing part of his vacation to begin adaptation to Almada’s methods, while the Uruguayan pair are completing their post‑tournament recovery. Forward Alejandro Zendejas, the only club player who featured for the United States at the World Cup, remains absent and has been granted additional rest days.

The team is preparing for the Apertura 2026 season, with its first match scheduled against Querétaro on 18 July at Estadio Corregidora. The club also confirmed the signing of forward Rodrigo Aguirre from Monterrey to add further competition for attacking positions.
