Club América maintains undefeated streak amid Brian Rodríguez transfer news

Club América remains undefeated in the Apertura 2026 tournament, holding the top position in the Liga MX standings with 16 points. The team is scheduled to face Cruz Azul in Matchday 8, a matchup highlighted by the strong form of Uruguayan player Brian Rodríguez, who has recorded five goals and three assists across Liga MX and the Leagues Cup.

Santiago Baños, the sporting president of Club América, recently revealed that the club successfully negotiated for Rodríguez to remain with the team despite a significant offer from the Dutch club Ajax. Baños noted that while the player saw the move as an opportunity to play in a major European league, an agreement was reached between the player, the club's management, and Guillermo Almada to extend his stay for the remainder of the Apertura 2026 tournament.
