Club América signs Oscar Perea but transfer paperwork may delay his debut

Club América announced the signing of Colombian forward Óscar Perea, a 20‑year‑old attacker, as its first reinforcement for the Apertura 2026. Perea, who signed a three‑year contract and is in good physical condition, began training with the team in Coapa. However, the club may be unable to register him in time for Jornada 3 of the tournament because his international transfer has not yet been processed by Liga MX.

In a related roster move, 22‑year‑old Mexican youth player Christo Vela left Club América to join Cancún FC for the Apertura 2026.
