Club América signs Oscar Perea but transfer paperwork may delay his debut
Club América announced the signing of Colombian forward Óscar Perea, a 20‑year‑old attacker, as its first reinforcement for the Apertura 2026. Perea, who signed a three‑year contract and is in good physical condition, began training with the team in Coapa. However, the club may be unable to register him in time for Jornada 3 of the tournament because his international transfer has not yet been processed by Liga MX.
In a related roster move, 22‑year‑old Mexican youth player Christo Vela left Club América to join Cancún FC for the Apertura 2026. Vela made 57 appearances for the club’s Sub‑21 side, scoring six goals, and featured in only two first‑team matches under coach André Jardine. The departures and arrivals mark a reshuffle of the squad as the club prepares for the upcoming season.
