Club América prepares for Liga MX Matchday 6 with Miguel Borja debut potential

Club América is preparing for Matchday 6 of the Liga MX Apertura 2026 tournament, where they currently hold the league lead. Colombian striker Miguel Borja has been officially registered and is eligible to make his debut this Saturday, August 29, against Puebla at the Estadio Azteca. Borja, who joined from Al Wasl, will wear the number 93.

In addition to Borja's arrival, reports indicate América is interested in signing midfielder Nelson Deossa to further strengthen their squad. Meanwhile, defender Sebastián Cáceres has confirmed interest from Spanish club Celta de Vigo but stated he is not pressuring the club for a transfer.

Puebla enters the match in fifth place, having recently secured a victory against Santos Laguna. On the other hand, Pachuca faces a critical situation; manager Benjamín Mora is under pressure following a poor home record at Estadio Hidalgo, with a potential loss against Guadalajara threatening his position.
