Club América to feature academy talent as two Brazilian players depart ahead of Apertura 2026

Mexico's Club América, under new coach Guillermo Almada, plans to give significant playing time to several academy graduates in the upcoming Apertura 2026. Named youths include defenders Ramón Juárez, Miguel Vázquez, Dagoberto Espinoza and Franco Rossano; midfielder Diego Arriaga; forward Patricio Salas; and goalkeepers Paolo Bedollay and Fernando Tapia.

The club also confirmed the exits of Brazilian midfielders Vinicius Lima and Rodrigo Dourado, both of whom featured in the 2026 World Cup, and announced a search for four additional signings to strengthen the squad. Almada's staff will include assistants Gianni Michelini and Darwin Quintana, with Rubens Valenzuela as fitness coach. The Apertura 2026 schedule begins on 18 July with a match against Querétaro and runs through November.

These moves are part of the team's broader renewal strategy following the departure of former coach André Jardine.
