Club América to face León in key Liga MX matchup

Club América, currently leading the Liga MX Apertura 2026 tournament, is set to face fifth-place Club León this Saturday at the Nou Camp. The match, scheduled for 19:00 Central Mexico time, is a key fixture for the top of the table.

América enters the match with a mix of roster news. Defender Cristian Borja has been cleared to play after recovering from a knee injury sustained in a previous match against Monterrey. However, the team will be without Colombian striker Miguel Borja, who is serving a suspension following a red card. Coach Guillermo Almada is expected to manage rotations in the midfield and defense, potentially involving players like Alan Cervantes and Erick Sánchez.

Club León, managed by Javier Gandolfi, aims to use their home-field advantage to climb higher in the standings. Player Fernando Beltrán has emphasized the importance of defending their home turf against the league leaders. The recent head-to-head history favors América, who remain undefeated in their last five encounters against León.
