Club Athlétique Bizertin mourns loss of two former presidents

On 25 July 2026 the Club Athlétique Bizertin (CAB) announced that two of its former leaders died on the same day. Former president Ali Ben Gaïd Hussein (also cited as Ali Belgaïed Hassine) had headed a provisional committee at the end of the 1999‑2000 season, overseeing a transition and organising an elected general assembly. He was succeeded by Ezzeddine Karoui, who led the club from 2000 to 2002.

The simultaneous deaths of Hussein and Karoui prompted a flood of condolences from the club, former officials, supporters and figures in Tunisian football. CAB described the event as a rare double loss and paid tribute to the lasting impact both men had on the club and the city of Bizerte.
