Club Atlético 9 de Julio aims for provincial hockey title in Bahía Blanca

The field‑hockey section of Club Atlético 9 de Julio is enjoying a strong start to the 2026 season. In the women's categories the Sub‑16 team won the tournament by four points, while the Sub‑14 and Sub‑16 squads finished as runners‑up, each just two points behind the champions. The club also qualified for the regional National Club Championships in the Bonaerense region and secured places in the upcoming Bonaerense Sports Games.

The men’s first‑division side currently leads the Apertura tournament of the Asociación del Centro and will travel to Bahía Blanca to compete in the Provincial Club Champions tournament organised by the Federación Bonaerense de Hockey. The event coincides with the inauguration of a new water‑based hockey field at the Club Universitario de Bahía Blanca, one of the country's most modern surfaces. The roster travelling includes Diego Acosta, Valentín Álvarez, Marcos Asenjo, Gonzalo Cancelleri, Juan Cruz Castel, José Ignacio Gatica, Pedro Giretti, Benjamín González, Dante González, Juan Remigio Ledo, Manuel Mississian, captain Manuel Mogaburu and others.

In addition, the club has purchased a new synthetic turf roll from Forbex, the leading Argentine sports‑surface manufacturer, to be installed on its home ground.
