Club Atlético Platense honored by Buenos Aires Legislature for human rights work
The Buenos Aires City Legislature honored Club Atlético Platense for its ongoing commitment to human rights and memory. During a ceremony held on October 9, 2026, the legislature recognized the club’s audiovisual production, ‘Historia basada en hechos reales’, which reconstructs the experiences of militants and victims from the club's community during the military dictatorship.
The recognition also extended to family members of victims of state terrorism who have direct ties to the institution. Platense has maintained a sustained effort in matters of memory, truth, and justice through its Human Rights Commission, organizing lectures, guided tours, and screenings to preserve the history of the 1970s, a period during which several members, players, and fans were kidnapped or disappeared.
