AS Roma makes official bid for Feyenoord right‑back Givairo Read
AS Roma have submitted a formal offer for Feyenoord’s 20‑year‑old right‑back Givairo Read. The Italian club’s bid, reported to be in the €25‑30 million range, is higher than the previous offers made by Nottingham Forest, which were around €21‑23 million and were rejected by Feyenoord.
Feyenoord have kept Read under contract until 2029 and have publicly stated there is no release clause that would allow a sale for €25 million or less. The club therefore expects a higher price to consider the transfer. Nottingham Forest remain interested and have already reached a verbal agreement with the player’s representatives, but their latest proposal was turned down.
Gian Piero Gasperini, the AS Roma manager, confirmed his interest in Read as a reinforcement for the right flank, noting that the defender is open to a move to a Serie A side. The negotiations are ongoing, with Roma’s offer now the leading one on the table.
