Club Brugge defeats RC Lens 3-0 in Champions League

Club Brugge secured a decisive 3-0 victory against RC Lens in their UEFA Champions League league phase match at the Jan Breydel Stadium. Despite RC Lens dominating much of the first half and creating several dangerous opportunities—including a shot from Franjo Ivanović that struck the post—the Belgian side remained competitive thanks to several crucial saves by goalkeeper Yann Sommer.

Club Brugge broke the deadlock in the final minutes of the first half when Hans Vanaken capitalized on a rebound from a corner kick. The momentum shifted significantly after halftime; following a halftime tactical adjustment by coach Ivan Leko, Joaquin Seys doubled the lead in the 50th minute. Carlos Forbs completed the scoring in the 72nd minute to seal the win.

With this result, Club Brugge has earned six points from three matches in the competition. Meanwhile, RC Lens faces potential disciplinary action from UEFA following incidents involving pyrotechnics in the visitor section during the match.
