Club Canottieri Roggero di Lauria wins honors at Palermo-Montecarlo regatta

The Club Canottieri Roggero di Lauria achieved significant success at the 21st edition of the Palermo-Montecarlo sailing regatta. The club’s vessel, South Kensington, secured second place overall in the IRC (International Rule Club) class and second place in the ORC 2 category, which is designated for vessels under 11 meters.

The regatta, organized by the Circolo della Vela Sicilia in collaboration with the Yacht Club de Monaco and Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, featured 39 boats from 11 different nations. The Lauria crew, noted for being among the youngest in the competition, included owner Massimo Licata D’Andrea, commander Massimiliano Passariello, skipper Tommaso Bruni, and several other club athletes.

Club President Andrea Vitale highlighted the achievement as a prestigious result in one of the Mediterranean’s most important offshore races, noting that the project was developed entirely in-house by the club.
