Club de la Música de Villa Ballester announces closure

The Club de la Música de Villa Ballester has announced its closure after 12 years of operation. The owners stated that the current socio-economic situation has become “insustainable.” The closure will not be immediate, as the venue intends to remain open for several weeks to allow artists, neighbors, and the public to participate in final activities.

San Martín Mayor Fernando Moreira expressed concern regarding the closure, noting that the local culture is suffering due to the economic model. Moreira highlighted that municipal authorities are facing a significant drop in tax collection, specifically in Security and Hygiene and Gross Income taxes. Local leaders from San Fernando, Tigre, San Martín, and Vicente López have reported a reduction in revenue of approximately one-third, amounting to nearly 100,000 million pesos, which is impacting municipal budgets.
