Club de Madrid condemns passport revocation of Cellou Dalein Diallo
The Club de Madrid has issued a formal condemnation regarding the revocation of the ordinary passport belonging to Cellou Dalein Diallo, the former Prime Minister of Guinea. The restriction prevented Diallo, who is a member of the organization, from traveling from Abidjan to New York to attend events held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The international organization called on Guinean authorities to restore Diallo’s right to free movement and to ensure the full respect of his fundamental rights. In its statement, the Club de Madrid expressed solidarity with the former Prime Minister and reaffirmed its commitment to democratic freedoms, human rights, and the rule of law, noting that protecting the rights of political leaders is essential to any democracy.
